ASSESSMENT TASK 1 REQUIREMENTS:
Each student must produce an individual report that focusses on learning initial BIM management tasks, deployment and the basic use of leading applications.

ASSESSMENT DELIVERABLES:
The submission will comprise 1 PDF file including: BIM model with descriptions, the certificate of completion for Solibri Office, and your comparison report.

The purpose of this assignment is to enable you to apply your knowledge of information management systems in the construction industry and BIM, to provide a response to a real question.This assessment task addresses the following unit learning outcomes for this unit:

ASSESSMENT TASK 2 REQUIREMENTS
Each student must produce an individual analytical report that (1) provides a picture of BIM-related guidelines and policy documents, and data standards, and (2) indicates the development process of a BIM execution plan. The report should include:
1.A list of major BIM-related guidelines and policy documents (released by the state or federal organisations in Australia) and a description of each
2.A list of major BIM-related Data standards worldwide and a description of each
3. BIM Execution Plan development for a specific type of project

ASSESSMENT DELIVERABLE:
The submission will comprise 1 PDF file: the report, complying with the format described above.

PURPOSE OF ASSESSMENT TASK 3
The purpose of this assignment is to enable you to effectively work in a team and apply your knowledge of BIM in preparing and executing a plan for implementation of BIM on a project. This assessment task addresses the following unit learning outcomes for this unit:

ULO1: Demonstrate the ability to critically examine data, information creation and usage in the construction industry.
ULO2: Demonstrate an understanding of the challenges facing construction firms in adopting innovative information management practices.
ULO3: Demonstrate the ability to collect, evaluate and apply knowledge of BIM and information systems in developing an integrated delivery system for a case project.

ASSIGNMENT TASK 3 REQUIREMENTS
Students will join groups of four (4) students (preferably 4 cloud OR 4 on-campus students) enrolled in the same seminar session, and collaborate to create a technical report.

The submission is to be prepared in two parts:

Part 1: Explain your team’s working procedures including, description of roles and responsibilities of members, and clarification of how a BIM-related guideline is used in organising and managing a Common Data Environment for your team activities.

Part 2: Share the outcomes of completing the below tasks:
I. Federating discipline models into a single model
II. Identifying coordination issues – (clashes)
III. Safety checks of the federated model.
IV. Quantity take off for the federated model.
V. 4D simulation of the construction sequence.

Students will use an online collaboration tool for completing the tasks. All communication and exchanges of information must be recorded within this collaboration platform. One member of the teaching staff will join the team to monitor the level of activity in the collaboration tool. The team will also prepare and submit a presentation (narrated slides) describing their project and outcomes.
