ICT Strategic Plan 2020-2025:
Smart kid company is a reasonably large toy company. The main products of the company are educational toys for children from 5 years old. In the next 5 years, the CEO of the company would like to develop a digital toy that teaches children skills that help them prepare for primary school such as: reading, writing, math and even programming. This toy will be able to connect with an application installed on a mobile phone through the internet. From the app, parents can check the progress of their child after each play session and can compare the improvement after each week or month. The application also collects feedback while parents are using any of the features. The data is to be stored in the company’s cloud database.

Some developers would like to be able to purchase and use their own laptops and mobile devices for development and testing as they want a higher specification or different brands of devices than the company provides. They want to also be able to use them for their personal use as well.
The CEO also would like to apply some modern data mining techniques to analyse the data they get from the application at the end of each quarter to provide any insights for improvement. Also, the sale data will be analysed to support marketing research and strategy each quarter.
Currently, the IT infrastructure of the company is reasonably old. Therefore, the CEO wants to upgrade some IT infrastructure for sales and customer service teams so they will be able to communicate and support their customers better. He has established a business goal of obtaining and maintaining a 5 out of 5 stars customer satisfaction rate and become leader in the toy market.
The CEO is also concerned about the security of their applications and the cloud database. What would happen if it were attacked by hackers?
