Purpose and background:
Annotated bibliographies are essentially like a reference list with notes about each reference. They are useful all through academic study because they are a systematic way of summarising ideas from readings that you use in your assignments.The two core readings for TEP022 have been chosen because they relate to your final essay topic and will therefore be useful to use as evidence for your essay.

Task:
Write a two-paragraph annotated bibliography for each of these readings (four paragraphs altogether) which should include:
• Paragraph 1 – A summary of the reading
• Paragraph 2 – A description of which ideas in the reading will be useful to support your discussion in your final essay and an explanation of why they are relevant, useful and credible.
Text Organisation:
• Each individual reading summary has a heading comprised of correctly referenced and formatted bibliographical details
• The two annotations are presented in alphabetical order according to authors surname
• The second annotation and summary appear directly after the first one

• Are the main points summarised?
• Does the summary accurately capture the meaning of the original texts?
• Have the original ideas been paraphrased and summarised rather than copied or quoted?
• Does the critical comment clearly show the relevance and of the ideas in the reading?

• Is the writing grammatically correct?
• Is each annotation the right length?
