Most questions concerning ethics and the collection and analysis of data are addressed in the research methodology chapter of a thesis. After this unit you will follow the methods and procedures you outline in this assignment to actually collect and analyse the data for your broader research project. So, think of this assignment as a draft of your research methodology chapter for the research project.

This section re-introduces the general research problem in relation to the study’s general selection research paradigm, methodology, design, sample and methods. It often includes a summary diagram that shows how these fit together, conceptually and procedurally.

Ethical Considerations
This section identifies and reflects on possible ethical concerns related to your selection and use of the sample. Formal ethics approval is generally not necessary for projects not involving human participants or using publicly available data. Ethics approval can be difficult to get for some projects and may involve multiple applications, so it is very important to consider if your study is ethically appropriate and feasible before you proceed.
