Assessment Task 2 Instructions :
Complete the following activities:

1.Develop a presentation

In the next activity you will be presenting the ideas and concepts that you have been developing to a small group of staff to get their feedback.

To support you during the presentation, develop a PowerPoint (or other presentation program) presentation that includes the following:

1. The context in which these new ideas and concepts are being developed.
2. The practical and operational issues that will determine whether a concept can be implemented.
3. The creative thinking techniques that you used to consider and discuss each concept at the Management Team meeting.
4. Each of the ideas or concepts that the CEO gave approval to develop further.Ensure that the presentation gives the group the opportunity to discuss each of the following for each idea or concept:

o Their commercial potential and requirements to commercialise the concept.

5.Send an email to the CEO (your assessor).
The text of the email should be in grammatically correct English, written in an appropriate (polite, business-like) style.

It should introduce and summarise the contents of the attachment and seek their feedback and the place, date and time of your presentation.

Attach your Staff Presentation to the email.

6.Provide information session.
Prior to delivering the presentation, make sure that you practice your delivery, so you are well prepared. You will be assessed on your presentation technique as well as the content of your presentation.

Your assessor will advise you of the date and time of your presentation and will organise at least two other students to attend the information and training session in the role of staff members.

You are expected to take notes on the staff’s responses to include in a report to the CEO.

Begin your presentation by describing the context in which these new ideas and concepts are being developed.

Describe the practical and operational issues that will determine whether a concept can be implemented.

Give your presentation to the staff, encouraging them to give their feedback where possible.

The group should be given the opportunity to challenge, test and experiment with each idea or concept, not just accept what came out of the Management Team meeting.

The group should consider any practical or operational issues for each strategy presented and try to evaluate the effectiveness of each.

Before completing the presentation, the group should select the two concepts that are most appropriate for further development with a view to implementation.

During and after the presentation you will be required to demonstrate effective communication skills including :

1. Speaking clearly and concisely
2. Using non-verbal communication to assist with understanding
3. Asking questions to identify required information
4. Responding to questions as required
5. Using active listening techniques to confirm understanding

7.Seek specialist advice.
You are required to demonstrate your ability to seek specialist advice on some aspects of your proposals.

For the purposes of this assessment, this will involve you sending at least one email to an expert (your assessor) outlining the information that you need and why you have contacted them for it.

The text of the email should be in grammatically correct English, written in an appropriate (polite, business-like) style.

8.Write a concept implementation report.
The objective of this report is to further refine and test the selected concepts.

Your report should include, as a minimum, the following for each of the two selected concepts:

1. An introduction
2. The concept’s objectives
3. Feedback received at both meetings and the refinements that have been made to the concept.
4.Specialist advice that was sought
5. Comparison with at least one best practice example
6. Advantages and disadvantages of the concept
7. Practical and operational issues to be considered
8. Their commercial potential and requirements to commercialise the concept.
9. Any constraints to implementing the concept and strategies to deal with each constraint.
10. An implementation plan

Use the Implementation Report Template to guide your work.

9.Write a reflection report.
This report requires you to look at the process that you have undertaken to get the two concepts from inspiration to implementation.

This report should include an evaluation of the methodology that you used to originate and develop the two concepts to implementation phase. What went well and what didn’t go well?

It should also include suggestions for improvements that you would make to the process if you were to do a similar task in the future.

Your report should be about one-page long.
