1.You can select a number of residential buildings to follow for this assignment. The construction of each project can be at various stages, that will become your written report, describing in sequence the
construction process. The buildings must have a timber frame structure to NZs 3604 standards.

2.You will make regular site visits take photos recording the construction process. Make sure that if you enter the site you have permission and have the appropriate PPE required by the site.

3.The Written Report of the construction process will document the construction from green field site to the completion of the roof structure

4.The report will have the following sections :
1.Index/content – With numbered pages.
Introduction – Describes the selected building and how the report was undertaken.
2. Construction Process
Describe in the sequence of what happened on the site and covers the process set out in the Assessment Criteria Schedule below.
3. Content/Findings – The main body of the report containing all the descriptions, reasons and explanations for the construction of the building together with photos illustrations all as per the criteria given.
4. Conclusion & Research References – Your comments on what was learnt about the process and the construction of the building. Make a judgement statement on what you think of the construction process and construction standards used. References – list of resources used in compiling the report.

Performance Criteria :
1. Periodically report on the progress of your selected construction project, and fully report any problems or difficulties as they occur (builders sometimes go bankrupt, and bad weather can significantly affect the progress of a job). This can be done within a Tutorial session each week.
2. Your Building Report submission is to be placed electronically into the “Moodle” drop box. This document can be a in Word or PDF A 4 format.
3. Include comprehensive, relevant text, photographs and or sketches. You may also wish to include any trade literature (pamphlets etc.) necessary to illustrate unusual or new items or features used in the project. (Do Not mass dump this trade literature)
3. Include plans, sections and elevations of the building and site if it is possible to obtain them. (Ask the architect/designer or builder for assistance with this.) These drawings can be reduced in size if necessary. (This is not an assessment requirement.)Your own observations and comments should be included as
appropriate. The Building Report is not intended simply as a chronological record of events, but is to indicate your full understanding and appreciation of the process.

If your project for whatever reason is not able to be completed in the time of this report, then include in the “conclusion” section what your expectations for the completion process would be and any comments you would make regarding preventative measures that could have been taken to avoid these delays. If you have missed any parts of the construction process, you still need to include these aspects in your report using your class resources and research.

You may complete this report by following more than one house. The important thing to establish is that you have followed and recorded the process as per the Lectures and the Schedule.
